Another great week on the water on the Treasure coast. This week I had Jim and Brian from West Palm Beach. The plan was run the beach looking for bait, then look for Tarpon, Cobia, and Permit. If that didn't pan out we would hit the inlet for some Snook fishing. The weather was 1-3' sea blowing out of the southeast. The bait was not at the normal spot so we had to run much further north to find it. The ride North wasn't bad, but coming back into a head sea was not fun. what should have taken 20-30 minute run ended up being a 1 hour poundfest coming back to Stuart. We only spotted one small school of Tarpon before we had bait and spotted nothing coming back to Stuart. We not in the inlet ten minutes and Jim hooks and lands a very healthy upper 20 pound fish. Jim actually caught his first 3 snook with me. Brian did not disappoint. He missed quite a few fish before he returned to his snook catching self. All in all a nice day with good friends and many big snook caught.

Sunday I had the opportunity to fish with long time friends, and my godson John, Steve, and Tyler Fairtrace. We meet at sandsprit park at 6:00am. The plan was to buy bait, since bait was scarce the day before and hit the inlet for the outgoing tide. We arrived at the inlet right as the tide turned putting us at the right place at the right time for some fabulous Stuart inlet snook. The weather man lied again about the wind. John was the first to strike with what we knew was a big fish. The fish ran us around another boaters anchor line and after a 10 minute struggle John managed the first stingray of the morning. Now we weren't targeting string rays but the old man was beat and decided to take a break. Next up was Steve, he manage to put the first snook in the boat at about 15 pounds. Everyone was waiting for Tyler to hook up. It wasn't long before he joined Dad in putting his first big snook at about 15 pounds in the boat. Now that everybody caught something, it turns into a free for all. John, Steve, and Tyler all boat so many fish that we decided to take a break and run the beach looking for those Cobia. No cobia were found but we did manage to net some big greenies. Out to 60' of water Northeast of the inlet and we get covered up in bonita. After several bouts with the bonita we decide to call it a day. It was good to have John, Steve and my godson Tyler on the boat and see Tyler's first big Snook. Until next week, tight lines

I love this time of year. Bait is thick and the fish are hungry. Big pilchards have arrive outside the St Lucie inlet and Tarpon, Snook, Big Jacks, Permit, Cobia, Kingfish, and Bonita are plentiful. Last week I had Lou Lane and Phil Freda on the boat. Lou caught a very respectable 31'' Trout while Phil Put some nice snook in the boat.

Thursday I had , Evan, John, and Dillion on the boat. The plan was to run the beach looking for tarpon and then hit the inlet for snook. We only found 1 school of Tarpon and they were skittish. We headed to the inlet for the snook bite. Dillion and Evan put 2 30lb snook in the boat. This past Saturday I had Danny and Chaz. The plan was to hit the inlet early for snook, then run the beach looking for tarpon. The snook cooperated. We caught 8 fish to 25lbs. About 8:30 we decided to run the beach looking for tarpon. No Tarpon spotted but we happened upon tons of big pilchards. One throw of the net and we had all the bait I could carry. Danny and Chaz wanted to try offshore so we headed for the sandpile. First drift after about 1 minute, Chaz hooks up with a very big cobia for the tackle we were using. After a 20 minute battle a mid 50lb fish hits the deck. Next drift, 30 seconds into the drift the rod doubles over. After about a 20 minute battle a mid 40 lb fish hits the deck
